My work explores how the human condition thrives and agonizes in urban environments. It questions the personal identity and the flux in our ambivalent relationship with nature.

I am interested in the tension between public space and private experience. 
How do we experience both connection and isolation in cities and nature?

With fragmented composition and found materials I give my personal testimony of the pendulum swinging between segregation and integration.

Time is a crucial element in my pictures. I consider every picture as many lived moments of the used materials that make it up. I don’t think of painting as an activity but rather for the mark making area as instances of lived moments of myself, the subject and the medium.

Analogously I believe that the instability of identity and the human crux in portraying people and objects around me can only be achieved by painting them directly from life observations.

The work is not there to offer any answers, but rather for people to inhabit and share these moments of uncertainty.
